Type specimens: Watt 5425 and King's collector s.n. Nye-gu-la July 1888 resides at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (specimens E00024624, E00024625) and Kew (specimen K000750237).
P. deuteronana is found in Central Nepal and Western Sikkim. Evidence of it growing in Eastern Nepal would be desirable. Characterized by long, narrow petals (varies), hairs in the throat of the flower and long tubes. Forms rosettes of tight, stiff leaves. A white form is known. Hybridizes with P. aureata in Central Nepal.
