Primula xanthopa Balf.f. & R.E.Cooper

Epithet: Named for yellow farina on the underside of the leaves.
Distribution: Bhutan

This little known species is endemic to Bhutan, found only on the Dongla pass to the east of Minji gompa. It resembles P. yunnanensis but its section is uncertain. Distinguished by glabrous leaves which have a deeply incised-dentate margin, yellow farinose beneath and a distinct winged petiole. The scape is 5-10cm tall, has 1-3 purple exannulate flowers with a yellow farinose eye.
