Type specimen: J. D. Hooker 30 (Kankola, Sikkim) resides at KEW (specimen K000750428,K000750430) and Paris (specimen P04908494)
Epithet: Named for its Soldanella like form.
Distribution: Bhutan, S Tibet (Xizang), C & E Nepal, Arunachal Pradesh.
P. soldanelloides is a tiny (to 4cm) species that grows on mossy cliff faces and wet rocks. Distinguished by the white campanulate flowers, glabrous, deeply pinnatifid leaves and ebracteate scape. Calyx usually blackish-green but does vary to lighter green.
