Distribution: W Sichuan

This species is remarkable for its large calyx. The flowers are small and cylindrical, with dark red to violet limbs, or pale yellow with the inflorescence forming a rounded mass. The foliage is similar to P. malvacea. Grows in dry meadows and forest edges near Kangding.
