Described as being similar to P. rhodochroa in Section Minutissimae, but with a leaf margin sharply dentate above the middle, scape absent, flower solitary with a single linear-lanceolate to subulate bract, calyx lobes parted to the middle, tube longer than the calyx and with white hairs in the tube. Also compared with P. socialis (P. yunnanensis subsp. socilais) in Section Aleuritia but covered in farina, leaf oblanceolate to spathulate, corolla tube hairy inside. Has some similarities to P. tenella. Placed by the authors in Section Aleuritia but possibly better placed in Section Minutissimae but yet to undergo molecular phylogenetic analysis. Grows in moss-covered limestone crevices and only known from the type locality.
