In the original description of this species, the flower color was said to be yellow. This is deemed to be an error. Like other members of this section, the plants favor rock cervices and under overhanging rocks in drier areas. P. consocia was discovered further to the south in Tibet, but is the same species. P. littledalei resembles P. rotundifolia but differs by distribution, the flower color (light pink), the leaves which have prominent nerves and mid-rib below radiating palmately and capsule equal or below calyx.
