One of several Primula species first described by Carl Linnaeus, the type specimen is a designated lectotype (see additional reference). Primula integrifolia shares Subsection Rhopsidum with P. allionii, P. tyrolensis and P. kitaibeliana and is distinguished from them by the entire leaves without glandular hairs except for a marginal fringe. Flowers are rosy-lilac with a glandular-pubescent throat and the pedicels are obsolete. The last two images are of the hybrid P. X muretiana.
