A glabrous species growing on acidic soils, leaves are erect oblanceolate to oblong with a rounded apex, denticulate margin and glandular-punctate which makes them sticky. Flowers are blue-violet with a dark ring at the eye. The last 7 images are of the hybrid with P. minima, described as P. x floerkeana. It was suggested by Smith, Burrow and Lowe that hybrid forms close to P. minima be called P. floerkeana f. biflora, intermediate forms be called P. floerkeana f. salisburgensis and forms close to P. glutinosa be called P. floerkeana f. huteri.
